What is the use of Low-E glass curtain wall?

In architectural applications, the use of Low-E glass can achieve the effect of "warm in winter and cool in summer", with excellent heat insulation and thermal insulation performance. Low-E glass is a member of the coated glass family. Its widespread application began in developed countries in Europe and the United States in the 1990s. This glass can reduce the heat transfer caused by the temperature difference between indoor and outdoor.

Excellent thermal performance

LOW-E glass has excellent thermal performance; the heat loss of door and window glass is the main part of the energy consumption of the building. The emissivity of ordinary float glass is as high as 0.84. When coated with a layer of silver-based low-emissivity film, its emissivity can be reduced to below 0.1. Using Low-E glass to manufacture building doors and windows can greatly reduce the transfer of indoor heat energy to the outdoors caused by radiation, achieving ideal energy-saving effects.

Good optical performance

LOW-E glass has good optical performance; Low-E glass has a high transmittance of visible light in sunlight, which can reach more than 80%, and a very low reflectance, which greatly improves its optical performance compared with traditional coated glass.
