Thailand ASEAN International Building Exhibition has been held since 1986 by the Siamese Architects Association under the royal sponsorship. It is the third largest exhibition in Asia and the largest building industry exhibition in ASEAN region. It is also the most professional, best trade opportunities, most authoritative and most important exhibition in Thailand.

The exhibition will display the most advanced products, equipment, technology and services, and promote the use of the latest building products and technologies.

Thailand is one of the emerging industrial countries and market economies, which implements free economic policies and is an export-oriented economy. As a member and founding member of ASEAN, Thailand has a high degree of policy transparency and trade liberalization, and an open and inclusive business environment. It is the second largest economy in ASEAN and has a strong radiation capacity to neighboring countries. ASEAN countries generally lag behind in infrastructure, especially in power, roads, ports, railways and other aspects. In recent years, ASEAN countries have intensified their efforts in infrastructure construction. According to the development needs of their own countries and the region, ASEAN countries have listed the infrastructure projects that are in urgent need of development according to their national characteristics, and have received support from many countries and international organizations, including China. For example, the high-speed rail development projects in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, the port development projects in Cambodia, the power development and oil pipeline projects in Myanmar, and the oil and gas extraction and storage projects in Brunei.

The two sides announced the building of a more stable, prosperous and sustainable China-Thailand community with a shared future, which will give new meaning to the concept of "China and Thailand are one family" and usher in a new era of China-Thailand relations. This will bring more benefits to the two peoples and inject more positive energy into peace and development in the Asia-Pacific and beyond. The two leaders witnessed the signing of the China-Thailand Strategic Cooperation Joint Action Plan (2022-2026), the China-Thailand Cooperation Plan on Jointly Promoting the Belt and Road Initiative, and cooperation documents on trade, investment, e-commerce and scientific and technological innovation. In the first 11 months of 2022, China-Thailand trade volume reached 97 billion US dollars, an increase of about 3 percent over the same period in 2021. Among the companies in Thailand that applied for certificates of origin to use preferential treatment, the ones that exported to China accounted for the largest proportion.
